Sunday night at Lisbon's Sheyenne Speedway enjoyed a great evening of weather as kids enthusiastically showed up for Kids' Night. They were entertained by riding in the cars of their favorite drivers prior to the full night of racing action.
In the Gateway Chevrolet Hobby Stock feature Ferlin Sheridan and Jordan
Sours started up front, but a second turn caution on the first lap sent them both tail end. Clay Gentzkow would be the leader when the race resumed. Gentzkow would be challenged throughout the race by Kodee Ussatis. On the last lap, while racing for the lead, Ussatis slipped off the number three turn, allowing Billy Carow to take the second spot. Gentzkow would claim his third straight feature win with Carow second, followed by Zach Nord, John Heacox, and Ryan Mund. Heat winners were Gentzkow and Carow.
The Milnor Fabrication Mini Stocks had Kevin Throener and Gavin Walton bringing the field to green. Pokey Lukes grabbed the early lead until the caution came out on lap five. On the restart, Jason Reinke took the lead followed by Cole Bogart. Reinke would hang on to pick up the win followed by Cole Bogart second, Drew Bixby, Cougar Axtman and Kevin Throener rounding out the top five. Heat winners were Cole Bogart and Reinke.
In the Steffes WISSOTA Street Stocks a furious battle waged up front the entire twenty-lap feature with Kyle Anderson, Kasey Ussatis, and Royce Jawaski fighting for the lead. A caution came out with five to go with Ussatis leading the field back to green. Anderson, Jonny Carter and Jawaski would go four-wide into the turns in the final laps. When the checkered flag flew Carter edged Ussatis at the stripe. Anderson settled for third with Timothy Waln and Bob Banish, Jr., fourth and fifth. Heat winners were Carter and Jawaski.
In the Mycogen Seeds WISSOTA Midwest Mods Alex Senger and Royce Jawaski started out front. Jawaski would lead the field in the early laps followed by Nate Reinke and Kyle Langland. Randy Klein was working his way through the field and garnered third place by the fourth lap. Klein continued his march to the front, taking over the lead on the sixth lap. Travis Saurer would work his way up to the second spot, where the two would begin to pull away from the rest of the field. Jawaski, Reinke and Brennon Weight raced for the third spot. When the dust settled it was Klein bringing home the feature win, with Saurer second. Jawaski would claim third, followed by Reinke and Weight. Heat winners were Klein and Nate Reinke.
Fourteen cards started the twenty-lap Fargo Force WISSOTA Superstock feature. Taylor Schmidt and Brian Bernotas would bring the field to green. Trevor Nelson would make his way to the front and race side by side with Bernotas in the early laps. Bernotas would use the high line to take over the lead. Once out front Bernotas was able to maintain a comfortable lead over the rest of the field. Nelson, Schmidt and Cole Searing raced for the second spot. Shane Brick would make his way up to join the trio. Bernotas would ultimately prevail for the win. Nelson would come home second followed by Searing, Schmidt, and Brick. Heat winners were Searing and Nelson.
Racing resumes next Sunday, June 10th with the IMCA MODS coming to town for the first time at 6:00 PM presented by QUAL DAIRY.
