WIssota Midwest Modifieds take center stage

LISBON, N.D. — The Mycogen Seeds Wissota Midwest Modifieds take center stage this Sunday, June 24 at the Sheyenne Speedway in Lisbon. The 1/4-mile track is resuming action with a full racing program after taking Father’s Day weekend off.

Thank you to our loyal race night sponsor Plains Grain & Agronomy from Enderlin, ND.

The Midwest Modified SPECIAL is highlighted by a 25 lap feature that will pay $500.00 to win and will be a Draw / Re-Draw for the Midwest Modified drivers.

“I really dig racing Sheyenne Speedway. They pack the house with enthusiastic fans and are really doing some cool stuff these days, attracting some of the best drivers around." said season opener winner Scott Bintz. "If you’re a Wissota Midwest Modified driver, racing Sheyenne will up your game. If I can get to victory lane there, it gives me the confidence that I can do it anywhere." Bintz currently sits in 5th place in the points standings and looking to make a run at the track championship. "It’s tough competition and often dry slick racing. They say great racers are wicked good on the slick. Sheyenne will humble you or make you a better racer. This Wissota Midwest Modified special will be a real thriller I’m sure.”

Jeffrey Schwind Jr. of Jamestown, ND has made all four races in 2018 and sits in 4th place in the point standings. "I really enjoy traveling to Lisbon to race weekly. The competition is tough and clean racing." Jeff is only his third year of racing the class and made great strides to compete with the other experienced drivers. "I feel I get better each week and looking forward to the $500.00 to win Wissota Midwest Modified special this weekend."

The Fargo Force Wissota Super Stocks, the Steffes Wissota Street Stocks, the Milnor Fab Mini Stocks and the Gateway Chevrolet Hobby Stocks will join the Wissota Auto Racing Midwest Modifieds on Sunday.

With four events in the books, the point leaders are Cole Bogart of Milnor, in the Mini Stocks, Clay Willis Gentzkow of Lamoure in the Pure Stocks, Jonny Carter of Lisbon in the Wissota Street Stocks, Randy Klein of Lisbon in the Wissota Midwest Modified and Brian Bernotas of Colfax in the Wissota Super Stocks.

Another big event to mark on your calendar is set for July 1 as the track will celebrate its 45th anniversary with a big night and FIREWORKS. The IMCA Modifieds return for their second appearance of 2018. A full night of racing is planned as all five regular classes will run in addition to the modifieds.
